Discover My Name is Sign, Paris is Mine , a unique project by Karim Boukercha , which combines a documentary book and a podcast to retrace the forgotten story of Sign , a pioneer of Parisian graffiti and hip-hop in the 80s. Mysteriously disappearing in the early 90s, Sign remained untraceable for decades, until it was discovered in 2022 that he had actually been dead for almost ten years. His entourage was unaware of this, his family knew nothing of his artistic past. This intimate and historical account looks back on a three-year investigation , driven by the testimonies of those who knew him, and broadcast through ten episodes accessible via QR code . The book, published in 14 x 20 cm format with a hardcover binding and 224 color pages , extends this sound dive with a new visual corpus , mixing rare archives, never-before-seen photos and an original literary text that gives all its depth to this portrait that is both personal and generational. Together, sound and image compose a hybrid and sensitive work, where the urban and cultural memory of Paris takes on a new dimension.
